The Courtroom Gospel Method

Special thanks to NeedGod.net and Ray Comfort for inspiring this evangelism method. These ideas were not invented by us, but have been developed, refined, and used by other Christians through time.

More important than following this script to a tee is allowing the Holy Spirit to guide you as you go out and share the Gospel. Trust Him and live bold, speak truth and show love!

  1. What do you think is the purpose of life?

  2. Do you believe there’s a God?

  3. If a God would exist, it would matter how we live right? So, do you think you are a good person?

  4. Have you ever told a lie?

  5. Have you ever used bad language?

  6. Have you ever been angry or disrespected someone?

  7. So I’ve done all these things too, I know I am not a good person, but if God was to judge you based on these things we just talked about, would you be innocent or guilty?

  8. Does that sound like a punishment or a reward?

  9. Would punishment sound like a place in Heaven or Hell?

  10. So how do you think you could avoid your Hell punishment?

  11. What we need is someone who can take the punishment we deserve. If that hell punishment has already been paid for, where will you go when you die?

  12. That was Jesus, that's why he died on the cross, to take the punishment for our sins and he rose from the dead 3 days later.

  13. So if God would ask you why should I let you into heaven, what would be your answer?

  14. We can’t earn salvation by being “good”, because all of us fall short before a holy God.
(If they got question 13 wrong, ask: “So if we fall short, who do we need to trust in?”
Don't let them off the hook before they get question 14 right.)

  15. Do you have a Bible in your home?

  16. Do you know of a Church you could go to?

  17. How can I pray for you?
