Week 10 - Relying on the Holy Spirit
Relying on the Holy Spirit
God is one Being in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
In all things, we rely on the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, who applies the work of Christ in us, empowers our witness, and magnifies the Son.
The Spirit was present from creation, guiding God’s people in the Old Testament, and was poured out fully at Pentecost to dwell within all believers. The Spirit convicts us of our sin, strengthens our faith, and directs us in godly living.
John calls Him the “Paraclete,” a Greek term meaning helper, counselor, or advocate. Like a trusted guide who brings knowledge, wisdom, and resources you don’t have, the Holy Spirit stands beside you to lead, comfort, and strengthen you. Simply put, He is always with you for your good and His glory.
Evangelism, holiness, and spiritual strength flow from dependence in Him, not in our own strength. Believers must not grieve or quench the Spirit, but rather embrace His presence, trusting Him to guide us into truth, enable us to love others, and give us the ability to glorify Christ to the fullest.
